Hystra is a global consulting firm specialized in inclusive business. We support corporations, social businesses and social investors in designing sustainable and scalable strategies for the Base of the Pyramid.

Across the world, thousands of social entrepreneurs are exploring how to harness market forces for social good. However, most of them fail to achieve scale. Since 2009, we have reviewed the challenges at the Base of the Pyramid in sectors as diverse as energy, safe water, smallholder agriculture, nutrition, sanitation, ICT, marketing and distribution, affordable housing, and public-private coalitions, scanning over 1,500 BoP projects and organizations and analyzing in depth over 150 of the most successful among them.

We leverage this knowledge to support our clients throughout the inclusive business lifecycle: create and implement innovative business models, build more effective marketing approaches, craft public-private partnerships, or design hybrid governance models.

Olivier Kayser is the Founder and Managing Director of Hystra. From 2003 to 2008, he was a VP of Ashoka, launching its France and UK operations, creating the global Ashoka Support Network and advising its Full Economic Citizenship Initiative. He was a senior partner at McKinsey for 18 years in Europe, the US and Asia. At age 23, he founded TER a consulting firm serving French public sector clients. He also lived a year in a small village in Belize. Olivier is a board member of two multi-billion Euros companies and non-profits, including GAIN until April 2013. Olivier graduated from HEC in 1979.
