The Inclusive Business Action Network (iBAN) is a global initiative supporting the scaling and replication of inclusive business models. iBAN manages the largest global online knowledge platform (iBAN blue) on inclusive business and offers a focused Capacity Building Program (iBAN weave) for selected companies and policy makers in developing and emerging countries. iBAN creates space where evidence-based knowledge transforms into learning and new partnerships.  With its focus on promoting the upscale of inclusive business models and consequently improving the lives of the poor, iBAN is actively contributing to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. iBAN is currently funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the European Union. The Multilateral Investment Fund serves as an IDBG innovation laboratory to promote development through the private sector by identifying, supporting, testing and piloting new solutions to development challenges and seeking to create opportunities for the poor and vulnerable populations in the LAC region. To fulfill its role, the MIF engages and inspires the private sector and works with the public sector when needed.
Created in 1993 by 21 donor countries, we are the largest provider of technical assistance for private-sector development in Latin America and the Caribbean. We have financed more than US$2 billion in grants and investments for private sector development projects. In all, we have funded more than 2,000 MIF projects with various partners.
Funds for our activities come from contributions made by our member countries—now totaling 39—in Latin America and the Caribbean, North America, Europe, and Asia.
